Your content and rights
Flick is built for work you own, including work you deliver to clients. This page covers who owns what you create, what we do and do not do with your files, who processes them, and how long we keep them.
In short: You own what you upload and what you generate, and commercial use is included on every paid plan. We do not train our models on your content. Your work is private until you choose to publish it. We keep your files for as long as your account is active, and we can arrange a defined retention window if your client contract needs one.
Who owns your work
You keep ownership of everything you provide to Flick: prompts, reference images, video and audio. As between you and Flick, you own the output you generate from it.
Commercial use is included on every paid plan. There is no separate commercial license, no extra fee, and no restriction specific to advertising or broadcast use.
One practical limit worth knowing: exports on the Free and Casual plans carry a Flick watermark. Every plan from Standard up exports without one, so client deliverables need Standard or above. Upgrading also removes the watermark from new exports of work you made earlier.
How we use your content
We do not use your content to train or improve our models. Your uploads, prompts and generated output are not training data.
There is one exception, and it only happens when you ask for it. Creating a custom style reference fits a private style from the images you upload for that purpose. That style belongs to your account and is used only for your own generations. It does not feed a shared or general model.
We do scan content for policy violations, and we use aggregated usage data that does not identify you to understand how features perform.
Who processes your content
Some of the models on Flick are built by other companies, and the model picker always shows you which model you are using. When you generate with one of these models, your prompt and any reference files are sent to the infrastructure serving that model, for the sole purpose of running your generation. Providers receive the content of the generation itself, not your account details.
Our providers are established AI infrastructure companies with published security and privacy programs. Across the set these include independent security audits such as SOC 2, GDPR data processing terms with Standard Contractual Clauses for international transfers, and limited default retention for generation data. Your finished results are stored on Flick's own storage rather than left with the provider.
We are formalizing data processing agreements with our providers, covering confidentiality, retention and use of your content. If your legal or security review needs the named list of processors, or the current terms with a specific provider, write to contact@flick.art and we will share it as part of your vendor review.
How long we keep your files
Your uploads, prompts and generated output are kept for as long as your account is active. That is deliberate rather than incidental: Flick is a canvas you come back to, and your projects would break if we expired the assets inside them.
- You can clear things yourself. Remove projects and assets from your workspace at any time.
- You can ask us to delete everything. Request deletion of your account and its data at contact@flick.art.
- You can ask for a fixed window. If your client contract requires a defined retention period or a deletion timeline, we can set that up for you. This is not limited to Enterprise plans, so just ask.
What is private, and what is not
Everything you make is private by default. Nothing you generate is visible to anyone else unless you publish it, which is always an explicit action you take.
Two defaults are worth knowing if you work with clients:
- Team workspaces. A new project inside a team workspace is visible to your teammates. Mark a project private if it should not be.
- Publishing a film. Publishing shares the film's canvas workflow, including your prompts, alongside the film itself. You can turn that off in the export dialog before you publish.
We do not use private work in our own marketing. Only work you have chosen to make public can appear there.

FAQ
I am a freelancer or agency. Can I use Flick for paid client work? Yes, on any paid plan. You own the output and commercial use is included. Use Standard or above so your exports are not watermarked.
Does Flick use my client's footage to train anything? No. Your uploads and generated output are not used to train or improve our models.
My client requires files to be deleted within a set period. Can you do that? Yes. Contact us and we will arrange it. It is not gated to a particular plan.
Do your third-party providers meet industry security standards? They operate their own published security and privacy programs, which across the set include SOC 2 audits and GDPR data processing terms. For the named list and the specifics of each provider, contact us as part of your vendor review.
Will my work show up in Flick's marketing or on the public feed? Only if you publish it yourself. Private work stays private, and we do not use it in marketing without your consent.
Someone on my team can see a project I would rather keep to myself. Projects in a team workspace default to visible for teammates. Open the project and mark it private.
