APRIL 18-19TH
Flick is proud to partner with the MIT AI Filmmaking Hackathon, a showcase of award-winning films pushing the boundaries of AI storytelling. Our team was there in person to meet the filmmakers who are shaping what cinema becomes next.
MIT CAMPUS
Over the course of a month, hackers used Flick to build their films from the ground up. Then they came together at MIT for a full weekend of screenings, industry panels, and the moment they'd all been working toward — nominees and winners announced live. Our team was on the ground throughout, connecting with creators and showcasing what Flick makes possible.

The Flick Award celebrated filmmakers who used Flick to bring their story to life. Any participant who incorporated Flick into their film was eligible — and the winner walked away with a Flick Filmmaker Residency seat, a one-year Flick Studio subscription ($1,440 value), and a featured spotlight across Flick's app and social channels.

SUBmission
Oona Ode
SUBmission explores the relationship between a woman and an AI chatbot, examining how these systems can become mirrors that lead users into intimate, destabilizing confrontations with themselves. Moving beyond the idea of AI as a tool, the film presents the chatbot as a strange companion, present in moments of vulnerability, play, and emotional risk. Here, “opening your eyes” becomes an inward act: facing what is usually avoided, and seeing the self with greater honesty.
