Use Flick in Claude, ChatGPT and other AI apps
Connect Flick to the AI app you already use, then ask it to read your script, generate shots, and organize boards. What it makes lands on your Flick canvas, in order, like a generation you started yourself.
What you can do from another app
- Read: list your projects, read a project's boards and shots, look at shots as small pictures, and read the project's Story.
- Generate: images (up to 12 at once, with your shots as references) and video from an image.
- Organize: create projects and boards, add text notes to a board, and edit the Story.
It uses the same models and credit prices as Flick. A team project uses the team's credits. See How credits work.
Not available from another app yet: audio and music, the video editor, the 3D Stage, and deleting anything.
Connect Flick
Open your profile menu on the projects page or in the editor and choose Connect an AI app. Each row says what it does: Link opens the app's website, App opens the app on your computer, Guide opens this page. Once an app is connected, its row says Connected and opens the app.
You can also ask Flick's agent to connect an app. It offers a button such as Connect Flick to ChatGPT.
Claude
- Choose Claude. Claude opens with Flick already filled in.
- Click Add in Claude.
- On the Flick page that opens, check the account and click Allow.
Custom connectors work on every Claude plan. On the Free plan you can add one.
ChatGPT
- Choose ChatGPT. Flick shows the steps and its connector URL. Click Open ChatGPT: it copies the URL and opens ChatGPT's plugins page.
- In ChatGPT, click + and choose Add custom MCP server.
- Name it Flick, paste the URL, choose OAuth for sign-in, continue past the warning, and click Create as a plugin.
- Install the plugin. On the Flick page that opens, check the account and click Allow.
This works on ChatGPT's website. ChatGPT cannot fill in the URL for you, so you paste it. If you do not see the option, check your ChatGPT plan or workspace settings.
Cursor
Choose Cursor. Cursor opens and asks to install Flick. Confirm, then sign in to Flick and click Allow.
Claude Code
Signed in with your Claude account, Claude Code uses the Flick connector you added in Claude. Otherwise, run this in your terminal:
claude mcp add --transport http flick https://flick.art/mcp
Codex
Codex shares ChatGPT's plugins: connect Flick to ChatGPT as above and it is in Codex too, on the same ChatGPT account. Or run this in your terminal:
codex mcp add flick --url https://flick.art/mcp && codex mcp login flick
The first time you use Flick there, it opens a browser to sign in and Allow.
Any other app
Any app that takes a remote MCP connector can use Flick. Add a custom connector with this URL, then sign in to Flick when it asks:
https://flick.art/mcp
You can also copy it from Settings > Account > Connected apps > Copy URL.
Try it
Ask the app: "List my Flick projects." Then pick a project and try: "Read the script and make a board for scene 1 with its shots."
Who can do what
- Reading works on every Flick plan.
- Generating needs a paid Flick plan or a credit purchase.
- Reading and editing the Story is for the project's owner, as in Flick.
- You always choose the project. If you do not name one, the app asks before it generates anything.
- Limits: up to 30 generations a minute, and up to 3 videos running at once.
Where your shots land
Each shot appears on its board as a placeholder, in order, and fills in when it finishes. If the project is open, that happens within seconds. If it is closed, the shots appear the next time you or an editor opens it. Story edits land when the owner next opens the project. See Find your generations.
Privacy
The app only sees what it asks Flick for: project and board names, prompts, and small previews of your shots. Flick does not see your other chats in that app. Full-size download links go only to the project's owner, on a paid plan above Casual.
Disconnect an app
Go to Settings > Account > Connected apps and click Disconnect. The app loses access right away.
