AI Monster Generator: Create and Animate Creatures

Design an AI monster once, then make it move: the same creature, from the same sheet, in every shot of a film.

An ink drawing of a snarling horned monster with clawed arms raised

Most AI monster generators stop at one picture, and a creature that changes shape between shots breaks the film it is in. Two films from the Flick Filmmaker Residency put monsters on screen, and we read the prompts behind their 80 creature clips: the meteor-headed monster of Tusk Hunters and the winged creature of Xenogenesis. This page shows those clips with their exact prompts, four steps to design and animate a monster of your own, and what the makers wrote to keep each creature the same.

What can you make with an AI monster generator in Flick?

You can design a monster as a reference sheet, refine it by editing that sheet, then animate it fighting, flying or stalking through a scene with the same design in every clip.
  • A creature design sheet with front, side and back views, like the gaunt predator with a deer skull for a head drawn for In ’twixt Vows.
  • A monster in a fight, like the meteor-headed creature with a blade for an arm that faces two men in a cave in Tusk Hunters.
  • A flying creature in a chase, like the pink, beaked creature with bat wings that escapes through a city in Xenogenesis.
  • A monster that is hurt or changed, with a new design sheet for each state, as Tusk Hunters made for its creature after it was burned.

A monster in pain, written beat by beat

The prompt, written in Chinese, splits the clip into timed shots and gives each one the monster's movement, the camera, the sound and the light, so the pain reads as a performance.

A pink, beaked creature with bat wings flies down a dim apartment hallway through drifting dust00:11

A winged creature in a hallway

Each place has its own reference, the hallway, the city outside and a framing image, so the creature can fly through all of them in one continuous shot.

Use Creature Profile Sheet Wonder 3 as the visual reference for creature,
use Drainage Hallwayas hallway
use Someoneas someone.
use Drainage Backdrop Reverseas the city outside.
use ChatGPT Image Jul 19, 2026, 10 11 54 PMstrictly as a framing reference.

Identity lock — the creature has heterochromia: its right eye (on the viewer's left) is blue-grey, its left eye (on the viewer's right) is brown. This two-tone eye coloring is intentional and must be preserved exactly in every frame; do not normalize both eyes to the same color.
Single continuous shot.
Action: Front-on, close-up on the creature with the camera flying backward directly ahead of it as it flies toward the lens — the camera holds this front-on lead the entire shot. The creature flies out of the blown-open hole on the right of the hallway through drifting dust, then banks left to fly down the hall. As it passes a door on the left, someone cracks the door and peers out — in focus — catches sight of the creature, turns back over his shoulder into his apartment and yells, "Babe! I think I smoked too much again!" The creature is passing him as he speaks, so most of the line lands as he falls out of focus in the background left. Still the same shot, the creature reaches an open window at the end of the hall, flies through it, and begins ascending into the sky over the street of the city outside. The camera stays front-on, leading it upward as it climbs higher and higher, wings beating steadily. It is calm and peaceful, the city dropping away below.
Blocking: creature center-frame throughout, moving from deep hallway toward the backward-leading camera, then out the end window and upward; neighbor's door on the left mid-hall, sharp as the creature reaches it, softening as it passes.
Camera: front-on, flying backward ahead of the creature, leading it down the hall, out the window, and up into the sky, staying with it the entire shot.
Style: smooth and methodical camera movement. 35mm film emulation, halation, bloom, shallow depth of field with hexagonal bokeh.
Audio: no music, no score. Wingbeats, settling debris and dust, the neighbor's shout, then the quieter open air as the creature ascends.
Forbidden: no white blobs on the character's faces.

One odd detail, locked

An identity lock names the creature's two eye colours and which side each is on, then tells the model never to even them out, so the detail survives every take.

How do you make an AI monster, step by step?

Describe the monster as a three-view sheet, refine that sheet by editing it, cite it in every shot, and give the model a layout of where the monster and the people stand.
  1. Step 1

Design the monster in words first.

Write a three-view sheet prompt that spells out the posture, anatomy, head and skin on a white background, so every later shot has one clear design to copy.

    • The In ’twixt Vows predator sheet comes from a 529-word description of its spine, ribs, limbs, claws and deer-skull head, made with Nano Banana Pro.
Three-view sheet of a gaunt forest predator with a deer skull head, in front, side and back views on white
Jaime Yao, director of In ’twixt Vows · Nano Banana Pro
  2. Step 2

Refine the sheet by editing it.

Edit the sheet you have instead of starting over, changing one thing at a time such as the metal finish or the legs, so the monster keeps its silhouette while the details improve.

    • The final Tusk Hunters sheet is an edit of two earlier versions, and 48 generated images on the film's canvas name the monster.
Monster design sheet showing the front, back and a close-up of a pale creature with a metal blade arm on black
Alan Xiao, director of Tusk Hunters · Nano Banana Pro
  3. Step 3

Cite the sheet in every shot.

Name the sheet in each prompt that shows the creature, next to the sheets for the people and places, so the model draws the same monster in a close-up and a wide shot.

    • 21 of the 44 creature clips in Xenogenesis cite the same creature profile sheet, and 36 cite a creature sheet of some kind.
A pink creature with bat wings flies up through the dark over a city at night00:04
Gertywood, director of Xenogenesis · Seedance 2.0 · Reference to video
  4. Step 4

    Show where it stands.

Give the model a rough layout image of where the monster and the people stand, colour coded, so a fight or a standoff keeps its geography from shot to shot.

    • 13 of the 36 Tusk Hunters monster clips mark the monster as red and the man it controls as yellow, matching a render of posed mannequins.

What keeps an AI monster the same from shot to shot?

A design the model can copy, cited by name: 59 of the 80 creature clips in these two films cite a monster sheet instead of describing the creature in words alone.

Tusk HuntersA meteor-headed monster with blade arms36 of 161A design sheet, cited in 23 clips
XenogenesisA winged creature and a giant black one44 of 420A creature sheet, cited in 36 clips
  • Tusk Hunters writes the monster's sound in 32 of its 36 monster clips, from wet tearing to a stifled growl, and puts it in fog in 33, so it is heard before it is fully seen.
  • Xenogenesis locks the winged creature's two eye colours in 18 of its 44 creature clips, a detail a model would otherwise even out between takes.

What do people ask about AI monster generators?

What is an AI monster generator?

An AI monster generator is a tool that makes a picture or video of a monster or creature from a text prompt, a drawing or both. Flick is built for films, so the same monster can be designed as a sheet and then cast in many shots on one canvas.

Can I make an AI monster for free?

Yes, you can start free: you get 100 credits when you sign up, 200 more for joining the Flick Discord, and 100 credits every week. Monster sheets with Nano Banana Pro and video with MiniMax H3 Max run on the free plan, while Seedance 2.0 needs the Standard plan ($20 a month).

Can I turn my own monster drawing into a video?

Yes. Upload the drawing to a Flick canvas and cite it as a reference in a reference to video clip, or use it as the start frame of an image to video clip. The creature sheets in the residency film Xenogenesis were uploaded and cited this way.

How do I keep the same monster in every shot?

Make one reference sheet of the monster with front, side and back views, and cite it by name in every prompt that shows it. Tusk Hunters, a film from the Flick residency, cited its monster's design sheet in 23 of its 36 monster clips.

How do I make an AI monster scary instead of silly?

Show less of it and let sound and light do the work: describe fog, a single cold light and the noises it makes before the full creature is seen. 32 of the 36 monster clips in Tusk Hunters describe both fog and the monster's sound.

Can I give my monster a strange detail that stays put?

Yes. Write an identity lock that names the detail, says exactly where it is, and tells the model not to change it. Xenogenesis did this for a creature with two different eye colours, naming which eye is which in 18 of its creature clips.

Which AI models can I use for monster videos in Flick?

The clips here were made with Seedance 2.0 on the Standard plan, from sheets made with Nano Banana Pro, Nano Banana 2 and GPT Image 2. Flick also runs Seedance 2.5 and Kling 3.0 Pro, and you can mix models across the shots of one film.
