Sketch to Video AI

WHY GENERATE WITH FLICK?

A sketch says where the camera is and who stands where, before any picture exists. On the Flick canvas the sketch goes into an image node as the layout, Nano Banana Pro draws the finished frame from it for 30 credits on the Free plan, and a video node animates that frame, so the shot you drew is the shot you get.

HOW IT WORKS

  1. STEP 1

    UPLOAD OR DRAW THE SKETCH

Drop your sketch on the canvas as an image node. Stick figures, boxes and arrows are enough: what matters is where the camera sits and where each character stands. Add a character sheet next to it if the shot has a recurring character.

  2. STEP 2

TURN THE SKETCH INTO A FINISHED FRAME

Connect the sketch, and the character sheet if you have one, to an Edit & Merge Images node with Nano Banana Pro and say which input does what, for example that the sketch sets the composition and the sheet sets the character. The frame keeps your layout and takes the look from your words and references.

  3. STEP 3

    ANIMATE THE FRAME

Connect the frame to an Image to Video node as the start frame and describe the movement, camera first: "locked camera" or "handheld camera style", then what happens. Kling O3 Pro costs 140 credits and Seedance 2.0 120 at default settings, on the Standard plan.

SKETCH TO VIDEO AI FAQS

WHAT IS SKETCH TO VIDEO AI?

Sketch to video AI turns a drawing into a moving shot. On Flick it is two steps on one canvas: an image model turns the sketch into a finished frame that keeps the sketch's layout, then a video model animates that frame. Flick is a browser canvas for making AI films, so each shot's sketch, frame and clip stay side by side.

DOES THE SKETCH NEED TO BE GOOD?

No. In the team films behind the examples above, the sketches are quick pencil layouts: a figure, a tree, a doorway, the horizon. The image model does the drawing; the sketch just has to fix the composition and the camera position.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST ON FLICK?

The finished frame is 30 credits with Nano Banana Pro, on the Free plan. Animating it with Kling O3 Pro is 140 credits and with Seedance 2.0 120 at default settings, both on the Standard plan; Pruna Draft is the lowest-cost video model at 5 credits. See pricing. Credit costs on this page were checked against Flick's live prices in October 2026.

CAN I TURN A SKETCH INTO VIDEO FOR FREE?

The sketch to frame step is free to try: Nano Banana Pro on the Edit & Merge Images node is on the Free plan, and the free plan gives up to 300 free credits plus 100 weekly credits, no credit card required. The video models used above need the Standard plan; paid plans start at $5 a month.

HOW DO I KEEP THE SAME CHARACTER ACROSS SKETCHED SHOTS?

Make one character sheet with front, side and back views, and connect it next to each shot's sketch, telling the model to use the sketch for the composition and the sheet for the character. For more control, use Character Reference, then animate the frames as usual.

HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT FROM IMAGE TO VIDEO?

Image to video starts from a picture you already have. Sketch to video starts one step earlier, from a drawing of the layout, so you decide the framing before any picture exists. The last step is the same: the finished frame goes into an Image to Video node.
