MiniMax H3 Max and Seedance 2.5 both turn a start frame into a clip with sound. We ran them on the same frames and prompts in Flick's image-to-video node. The headline is speed and price: on one shot H3 Max finished in 16 seconds and Seedance 2.5 in 2 min 48 s, and H3 Max costs a fraction per second.

Quick answer: MiniMax H3 Max or Seedance 2.5?

Connect a start frame to a video node, then:

Use H3 Max to explore. 40 credits for 5 seconds at 768p, back in seconds, on every plan.
Use Seedance 2.5 for long, directed shots. Up to 30 seconds; Standard plan and above.
Write a clear action for either. Both acted on named actions and both added cuts on their own.

Test 1: the woman is laughing

An illustrated portrait of a woman in a floral dress before pink flames, prompt "the woman is laughing, fire". Seedance 2.5 ran 10 seconds at 720p; H3 Max ran 15 seconds at 768p.

Seedance 2.5 animates the illustrated woman before pink flames: a slow drift as she smiles in profile, with the painted texture of the grass and flames kept

MiniMax H3 Max animates the same illustration: the camera pushes in from a wide profile to a close-up of the woman laughing with her eyes closed

Four frames from each clip: Seedance 2.5 keeps a wide profile with a gentle smile from 0.5 to 9.5 seconds; MiniMax H3 Max pushes in from the full figure at 0.5 seconds to a close-up laugh at 14 seconds

H3 Max gave the bigger performance: a push-in to a wide-open laugh. Seedance 2.5 kept the painting closer to the original, with the grass and painted flame texture intact, and a smaller smile. H3 Max redrew the flames in a flatter style.

Test 2: a man throws his notebook

A photographic office scene, prompt "The man angrily throws his notebook into the air while everyone else looks at him. no background music". Both 5 seconds: Seedance 2.5 at 480p, H3 Max at 768p.

Seedance 2.5 shows the man in the orange jacket throwing his notebook, a low angle of it flying toward the ceiling, and a wide shot of the room with the notebook on the floor

MiniMax H3 Max shows the same man hurling the notebook, the notebook flapping open against the ceiling lights, and his colleagues looking up

Four frames from each clip: Seedance 2.5 cuts from the man to a low angle of the notebook in the air and a wide room with the notebook on the floor; MiniMax H3 Max cuts from the throw to the notebook flapping open overhead and the colleagues looking up

Both cut the 5 seconds into three angles without being asked. Seedance 2.5 ended on a wide room with the notebook on the floor; H3 Max stayed on the flying notebook, pages open, and the faces watching it.

Run	Model	Settings	Credits today	Time
Notebook	MiniMax H3 Max	5 s, 768p	40	16 s
Notebook	Seedance 2.5	5 s, 480p	105	2 min 48 s
Laughing	MiniMax H3 Max	15 s, 768p	120	not recorded
Laughing	Seedance 2.5	10 s, 720p	480	not recorded

On another pair of frames, Seedance 2.5 took 3 min 18 s at 480p and H3 Max took 2 min 41 s at 2K, so the speed gap narrows when H3 Max runs its 2K pass. Output frames: H3 Max 1344 × 768 at 768p; Seedance 2.5 856 × 478 at 480p and 1282 × 718 at 720p.
