Mirelo SFX 2.0 vs Seedance 2.5 Native Audio: AI Sound Effects Compared (2026)

Zoey Zhang

Oct 2026

Seedance 2.5 generates sound with every video. Mirelo SFX 2.0 does one thing: it watches a finished video and builds a new soundtrack for it, with effects, foley and ambience timed to the action, keeping any dialogue. On Flick it sits under Video → Generate Sound Effects on any clip.

We took three Seedance 2.5 clips from our canvases and ran Mirelo on each, so every pair has the identical picture and only the sound differs. Listen to the pairs below; the measurements show where each model puts its sound.

Quick answer: should you run Mirelo on a Seedance clip?

Select a finished video on your canvas, then:

  1. Open Video → Generate Sound Effects. Mirelo SFX 2.0 is the model; the prompt is optional.
  2. Leave Keep Dialogue on if anyone speaks. Add a negative prompt such as "music" to keep it out.
  3. Run it for 3 credits a second. A 30 second clip is 90 credits and came back in about 20 seconds.

Give your clip a new soundtrack

Mirelo SFX 2.0 builds sound on the action, from 3 credits a second.

What Mirelo SFX 2.0 is

Mirelo released SFX 2.0 on October 14, 2026. Mirelo describes it as a video-to-sound model that watches the clip, cuts music the video model added without being asked, keeps the dialogue, and builds a sound design synced to the action. It is available through Mirelo's own tools, fal and Runway, and in Flick's video menu.

It does not touch the picture. Our three outputs had the same resolution and length as the clips we fed in, with a new audio track.

Test 1: a quiet prank, 30 seconds

A warm, intimate scene: a woman dozes in a rattan rocking chair, a young man spots her from an upstairs window, creeps down behind her, and tickles her nose with a blade from a houseplant. The Seedance 2.5 prompt asked for a quiet, natural atmosphere and no background music.

Seedance 2.5 with its own audio: a woman dozes in a rattan rocking chair, a young man smiles from an upstairs window, sneaks behind her chair and tickles her nose with a blade of grass from a houseplant
The same clip with a Mirelo SFX 2.0 soundtrack: footsteps and movement as the young man comes downstairs and creeps up behind the dozing woman

Seedance's own track is a low room tone with small events, and its loudest moment comes near the end, around 26 to 27 seconds, as he reaches her. Mirelo concentrated its sound earlier, at 7 to 9 seconds, as he leaves the window and heads down, then added small sounds through the sneak and one hit around 26 seconds. Neither added music or speech. Mirelo's version measured about 8 dB quieter overall.

Test 2: cartoon mice, 20 seconds

A cartoon kitchen with comic captions (WHOOSH, BOING, ZOOM) and mice flying about.

Seedance 2.5 with its own audio: cartoon mice leap and dash around a green-tiled restaurant kitchen past WHOOSH, BOING and ZOOM captions
The same cartoon kitchen with a Mirelo SFX 2.0 soundtrack built from separate effects for each action

Seedance laid one continuous bed under the whole clip, with peaks on the gags. Mirelo built the track from separate events and left two stretches of near silence, at about 9.3 seconds and from 13.7 to 15 seconds.

Test 3: a thrown notebook, 5 seconds

An office scene in which a man throws his notebook into the air while everyone watches; the Seedance prompt asked for no background music.

Seedance 2.5 with its own audio: a man in an orange jacket throws his notebook into the air in a crowded office and it lands on the floor
The same office clip with a Mirelo SFX 2.0 soundtrack, with a sharper cluster of sound as the notebook flies and lands

Both tracks peak as the notebook comes down; Mirelo's peak is a sharper cluster of separate hits.

Waveforms of all three pairs: Seedance 2.5's native audio is a continuous bed with peaks, while Mirelo SFX 2.0 places separate bursts of sound on the action, with gaps of near silence in the mice clip

Mirelo was fast on every clip, about 20 seconds regardless of length. Its output is mono; Seedance's was stereo. Level the Mirelo track before cutting it in, especially on quiet scenes like the first test. Rates for every model are on model credit costs.

When to use Mirelo

  • The clip has music you did not ask for. Mirelo is built to drop it and keep the dialogue.
  • You want sound placed on the action. In our tests it put its sound on movements and impacts rather than under the whole clip.
  • The clip came from a model without sound, or from an upload. Mirelo works on any video up to 60 seconds.
  • You want a second take of the sound without re-rendering the video. 3 credits a second is far cheaper than a new video.

Keep Seedance's own audio when it already fits: it is free with the video, it is stereo, and in two of our three clips it was louder. For mixing either into a film, see build the sound.

Tips

  • Use the negative prompt. "music" or "wind" keeps those sounds out.
  • Turn off Keep Dialogue for effects only. It is on by default.
  • Describe the sound you want if the picture is ambiguous. The prompt is optional but takes up to 1,000 characters.
  • Compare on headphones. Differences in quiet scenes are easy to miss on laptop speakers.
