Alan Xiao (Xiao Yunpeng) is an award-winning director specializing in GEN AI films, a trilingual editor, and a photographer based in Tokyo. Since 2022, he has focused on integrating generative AI into filmmaking. He previously studied Information Design as a research student at the University of Tokyo’s Watanave Hidenori Laboratory. His AI-driven works have been exhibited at venues including the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum, the Japan Newspaper Museum, and La Cité Nantes Congress Centre. He is currently developing an original feature/series [Harbingers]. This epic story blends science fiction, action, mythology, and psychological thriller to explore the omens of extinction. His work is known for its humanistic themes and a unique mix of Eastern philosophical underpinnings and Western visual brutalism.
