Write the narration first
The film starts from a short letter written on the canvas in the first person: memories of grandma on the balcony, slipping food into her hands, protecting her. Most shots come straight from those memories, and the narration was voiced in 10 clips with ElevenLabs v3.

Keep image prompts as short as a memory
The 19 Midjourney images come from prompts of a few words. The look of the film comes from the model's style, not from long descriptions.

Fix the details that matter
Nano Banana Pro was used three times, all to keep her the same grandma: a fuller, rounder build on the balcony, the face from another grandma image swapped onto the kitchen shot, then the glasses removed for the dozing shot.
Remove the round blue eyeglasses from the elderly woman's face.

Let the narration direct the clips
The video prompts are often a plain line in the first person, like the letter, sometimes with a camera note such as static shot. All 13 clips were made with Seedance 2.5.

One clip covers a whole childhood: the same walk, with the girl growing up while her grandma grows older and smaller.

The ending comes from the letter's last question, whether grandma turned into a wisp of smoke. The same frame of the two walking was used for 4 takes of that shot.

Adjust the body shape of the elderly woman standing on the balcony in Image 1 to match the fuller, rounder, stockier body proportions of the elderly woman in Image 2 (shorter and plumper build with a rounded back and broader silhouette). Keep the exact same standing pose facing away toward the view, the same long blue coat and white head covering, the same balcony setting with the garden, flowers, cat, baskets, and watering can, the same soft warm lighting, and the same hand painted 2D animation art style. Only change her body silhouette to be rounder and fuller like the reference woman, blended naturally into the scene.
